The Bridges Program, with sites in both Warrenton and Orange, offers day support, prevocational, and employment services for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Bridges utilizes individual supports and provides consumers with meaningful activities in the community.
The supports provided by the program include but are not limited to the following areas of support, assistance, and training:
Day Support
- Daily living skills (e.g., hygiene, housekeeping, safety skills)
- Accessing community resources
- Social skills
- Communication skills
- Fine and gross motor skills
- Problem solving and decision making
- Learning appropriate adaptive behaviors
- Medication administration
- Toileting
- Feeding
- Support and intervention in crisis situations
Training occurs during individual and group activities that take place at the program sites or in the community.
Prevocational
- Preparation for paid employment
- Habilitative goals (i.e., attention to task, fine motor skills)
- Employment related concepts (i.e., accepting supervision, attendance, problem solving)
- Task completion
- Safety skills
- Personal care
- Some paid work opportunities
Employment
- Work skills assessment

Bridges participants are adults age 18 and over with a diagnosis of intellectually disabled and an identified need for day support, prevocational or employment services. Contact Intellectual Disability Case Management Services at 540-825-3100 to schedule an intake appointment.
After admission to RRCSB services, Intellectual Disability Case Management refers eligible individuals to Day Support Services as appropriate.
