Senior Centers

Nutritious meals along with educational and social activities are provided for eligible seniors age 60 and over at five Senior Centers (one in each of the counties we serve), helping participants to remain in their homes and preventing or postponing nursing home placements. Door-to-door transportation service is available on a limited basis.

Volunteer Program - RSVP

The Volunteer Program matches people 55 years of age or older with more than 75 local, non-profit organizations. Seniors become engaged in a wide variety of service opportunities, including hospitals, a food pantry, thrift shop, literacy program, etc, as well as a volunteer driving program.

Aging Case Management

Senior Advocates provide information, assistance and care coordination services (Aging Case Management) to persons age 60 and over, targeting especially those who are frail or have disabilities or are at risk of institutional placement.

Personal Care Services

Personal Care Services provide personal assistance and health-related support services for frail elderly or physically disabled individuals, enabling them to remain at home rather than enter a nursing home. Personal Care Services are provided in the individual’s home. The schedule is determined by the individual’s plan of care.

Adult Day Care

The Adult Day Care program, with sites in Warrenton and Culpeper, provides daytime services for frail adults. Participants must be frail, have disabilities, or be at risk for institutional placement (e.g., nursing home), as defined by the Virginia Department for the Aging (VDA) and/or Medicaid (DMAS) standards.

Respite Care

Respite Care provides relief to full-time care givers who are supporting and providing 24-hour care to a frail, older person in their home. The services are provided in the individual’s home and are limited to intermittent, part-time care.

Medication Assistance Program

A Medication Assistance Program caseworker assists eligible individuals to access free medications through pharmaceutical company prescription assistance programs.

Long Term Care Ombudsman

The Long Term Care Ombudsman is an advocate for residents of long term care facilities, as well as for persons age 60 or older receiving comunity-based services. The Ombudsman can help resolve problems and mediate concerns between residents and/or their families and the facility or service provider relating to quality of care

Aging Together is an integral part of Community Partnerships for Older Adults, a program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. It is the collaborative effort of over one hundred organizations and individuals working to improve supports for older adults and their families. RRCSB-AAA is the lead agency for this regional partnership.
